The Edinburgh Legal Walk

Walk with us this year to support access to justice in Scotland

Why do we walk?

The pandemic and cost of living increases have pushed free legal advice services to breaking point, with many experiencing an unprecedented surge in demand from clients in desperate need of advice in areas such as debt, welfare, immigration, family, housing and employment law.

Without these free services, thousands of people who are unable to afford the services of a lawyer will be unable to access the help and support they need to get the justice they deserve.

The organisations we support:

  • Prevent families being made homeless
  • Prevent destitution
  • Help older people gain the support to which they are entitled
  • Help women and children who have been trafficked for domestic servitude or prostitution.
Why should you take part?

By taking part in the Edinburgh Legal Walk and seeking sponsorship from your friends, family and colleagues, you will be helping to secure vital funds needed for this important cause.

 How to get involved

Please sign up using the link below to register a team for the Edinburgh Legal Walk on Wednesday 5th October 2022

Funds raised will go to support local advice agencies and charities throughout Scotland.

Remember, if you are:
  • A legal advice agency you can raise the funds for your agency by signing up and telling us how much you raise
  • A law firm or chambers you can raise 50% for your favourite legal advice charity and 50% for the ATJF by telling us which partner agency you want to raise for

We hope most law firms, in house legal teams and advocates will allow 100% to go to the Access to Justice Foundation (Scotland) as those funds are strategically targeted at agencies most in need (and there are a lot of those!)
