The Liverpool Law Society has raised over £1,430.46 for the Community Justice Fund, with a virtual quiz over Zoom on Thursday 11th June.

The quiz was hosted by Steve Cornforth, previous President of Liverpool Law Society and a Trustee of the North West Legal Support Trust, and saw 64 participants battle it out across 18 teams.

Topics included recent news, music, sports, general knowledge and a particularly tricky final round, with quizzers having to put their local Liverpool knowledge to the test.

Congratulations go to Peter Kneale Solicitors, who romped to victory with an impressive 91 points.

Quizmaster, Steve Cornforth, said of the quiz: “This is such an important cause. I was so pleased that so many took part and raised a fantastic amount. I also hope they all had a great evening meeting up with old friends even if it was just on a laptop!”

“We’re so grateful to Liverpool Law Society and for everyone who took the time to join in with the quiz”, said Laura Cassidy, Development and Fundraising Manager at the Access to Justice Foundation. “The Community Justice Fund helps support specialist social welfare law advice agencies dealing with the immediate impact of COVID-19, and can help cover a range of issues such as cash flow deficits, loss of income and emergency spending. It’s great to see so many people join together to support the Community Justice Fund and have fun whilst doing it.”

If you’re interested in hosting your own virtual quiz to raise money for the Community Justice Fund, the Access to Justice Foundation can offer help and advice to set this up. For more information, contact Laura Cassidy, Development and Fundraising Manager lauracassidy@atjf.org.uk
