The annual Great Legal Quiz, an event that sees legal professionals across the country go head to head as they battle to be crowned the greatest legal quiz team in the UK, will return on Wednesday 25th November as a virtual event to raise money for free legal advice services throughout the country.

Throughout the UK people and organisations are encouraged to host their own virtual quiz on the 25th November, with questions and materials provided by the London Legal Support Trust and the Access to Justice Foundation (ATJF). Participating Quiz teams are encouraged to make a donation, with all the money raised going to the designated local Legal Support Trusts to help fund local legal advice services.

The Legal Support Trusts fund local free legal advice agencies across different regions that help vulnerable people and disadvantaged communities across the UK.

Following the success of the Liverpool Law Society hosting a Great Virtual Legal Quiz fundraiser back in June which raised over £1,400, the ATJF would like to engage local regional local law societies in the Legal Support Trusts work by helping societies to facilitate the Virtual Great Legal Quiz on 25th November as part of their social calendar of events.

The ATJF will provide participating Law societies with questions, publicity materials, a Virgin Money Giving page to collect open donations, and guidelines on how to run a successful online quiz. All funds raised through the quiz will be donated to the local Legal Support Trust designated by the participating Law Society.

Questions will be general knowledge based, with no legal knowledge required, so friends and family members are invited to join in too.

Winners of the national competition will be announced the following day on Thursday 26th November, with a shield awarded to the highest scoring team, and another for the team who has raised the most funds. Cardiff Junior Lawyers Division are the current team to beat, having been the highest fundraisers for the last three years.

Alternatively, if law societies are unable to participate in the Great Legal Quiz on 25th November, they are encouraged to help raise awareness and promote the event via social media channels to encourage their members to host their own quiz.
