Social Justice Funders Group

A place for funders to work together to maximise impact

The Social Justice Funders Group creates a community for all funders committed to creating a more just society to come together to share what works and explore how legal advice can amplify every pound invested in social change.

We’re united by the understanding that legal advice isn’t separate from social justice work, it’s essential to making it effective and sustainable.

When funders coordinate their support for legal advice services, communities get consistent, comprehensive support that addresses their real needs.

Why join us

We’ve seen housing campaigns succeed because multiple funders supported both community organising and legal advice. We’ve watched immigration communities thrive when collaborative funding provided both settlement support and specialist legal guidance. We’ve supported disability advocacy that changed policy because funders backed both grassroots activism and strategic legal challenges.

What we do together

We meet quarterly and use these meetings to:

  • Dive deep into key issues affecting the communities you fund, with insights from advice providers who see the challenges first hand.
  • Explore best practice around designing, managing, and evaluating advice funding that creates real change.
  • Identify opportunities for coordinated activity where our shared interests can create bigger impact.
