Organise a Legal Walk

Every step takes us closer to justice

Every year, thousands of lawyers, barristers, judges, legal staff, law students, and supporters of social justice come together in their local communities to walk and raise funds for justice.

If your town or city doesn’t yet have a walk, this is a great time to start one.

We make it simple

We provide a comprehensive walk organising pack and support to individuals or groups who want to host a legal walk, with a straightforward process and plenty of ideas to help you raise funds and have fun along the way.

Our organising pack includes:

  • Step-by-step guidance for planning your walk
  • Promotional materials and templates
  • Fundraising tips and ideas
  • Guides to set up your online fundraising page and sponsorship forms
  • Social media toolkits to spread the word

We’ll also promote your event, helping you reach legal professionals and supporters in your area.

We are really pleased that we have been able to raise money and awareness for a great cause, and we look forward to organising more fundraising events in the future in support of the charity.

Local Legal Walk organiser

We’re incredibly grateful to our walk organisers for their hard work and dedication in bringing together the legal community to take a step towards a society where everyone has access to justice.

Getting started

Ready to bring your local legal community together? Here’s how to begin:

  1. Register as an Organiser. Sign up with us and receive your organising pack with all the resources you need.
  2. Choose your route. Pick a route that showcases your local area through historic legal districts, scenic parks, or city landmarks that matter to your community.
  3. Set your date. Choose a date that works for your local legal community. Many walks happen during key awareness weeks, but any time that suits your area works well.
  4. Rally your networks. Reach out to local law firms, chambers, courts, universities, and advice agencies. The more people you involve, the bigger the impact.
  5. Plan the fun. Consider adding elements that make your walk special, perhaps finishing at a local pub, including refreshments, or creating team challenges along the route.

Why Legal Walks matter

The funds raised from legal walks go directly to support free legal advice services in local communities across the country. When you organise a walk in your area, you’re not just showcasing the legal profession’s commitment to access to justice, you’re raising money to do tangible good for local communities in need.
