2024 September Justice and Innovation Group

Open to anyone with an interest, JIG is a space for people who use innovation and technology to increase access to justice to exchange knowledge and ideas, find out about other developments and current activities, troubleshoot challenges, and seek partnership opportunities.

The September meeting of the Justice and Innovation Group will be held on Thursday 5 September from 10-11:30am.

The implementation of technology in delivering legal services is often undertaken on the understanding that its use will reduce unmet legal needs, but is that case? And if it is, how can we tell?

This session will explore methods for evaluating whether tech-enabled legal services effectively reduce unmet legal need. The session will focus on defining key metrics, assessing current tech solutions, and discussing challenges in measuring impact.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Whether it’s quantitative or qualitative, higher rates of resolution, or improved user outcomes we want to understand what methods are currently being employed to measure the efficacy of the use of technology, and what additional or alternative models we should be exploring.

Alongside contributions from the group the session will highlight work undertaken at the frontline to adapt evaluation models to meet tech-based delivery models, defining key metrics, and address challenges in measuring impact.

The session will also showcase new initiatives and provide updates on existing tools, featuring demonstrations of the Contend platform by founder Michael Stych and the My Housing Issue Gateway service that has been developed by the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) Foundation, led by Jennifer Harris.

As always, we are keen to hear about key issues that interest and affect our community, please bring your questions, insights, and updates to the session to explore with colleague.

Please reach out to us at network@atjf.org.uk with anything that you’d like us to address at this or a future session.

We look forward to seeing many of you there!
