Raise Funds for Access to Justice

If you are interested in supporting the delivery of free legal advice to the people, places, and communities most in need, why not put on a fundraising event and secure access to justice for more people across the country?

Get involved to support access to justice in your community

More than ever, we need the support of the legal community to help free legal advice organisations keep their doors open and continue to advocate for and enforce the rights of individuals.

By organising a fundraising event, you are directly assisting the provision of advice to the most marginalised in society and being part of the picture to increase access to justice. Our flexible approach to fundraising means you can contribute however much time and resources you, or your team/firm/organisation has to offer.

Where possible, we can also put you in touch with our local Access to Justice Committees that can support and coordinate your event with others happening in the area.

Whether walking, running, cycling or baking (or perhaps just eating?) cakes is your thing we have an event for everyone.

We want our supporters to have fun whilst raising much needed funds for free legal advice agencies and it is a great way of meeting new contacts too!

Bakes &
Quizzes

If you would like to get involved in taking part or helping to organise an event in your area please contact events@atjf.org.uk.

Show off your baking skills along with your staff, clients, students, friends or family. Flavoursome fundraising ideas include bake sales and competitions.

Give your brain a stretch and take part in this nationwide quiz as part of National Pro Bono Week. We supply the questions (not law specific) and you organise the quiz in your local pub, office or just at home!

Go the Extra Mile for Justice

We need your help to raise vital funds for free legal advice charities who support vulnerable people throughout the UK with our fun, virtual fundraising challenge: Go the Extra Mile for Justice.

In place of our 2020 regional legal walks (outside London and the South East), we’re asking as many of you as possible to take up your own sponsored fundraising challenge to raise £10 per mile for free legal advice services in your region.

It doesn’t matter if you are running, skipping, cycling, walking, or even hopping dressed as a kangaroo, sign up today!

Together our target is to complete 20,000 miles by the end of 2020.

Fundraising in London and the South East?

Our colleagues at the London Legal Support Trust facilitate the Great Legal Bake and the Great Legal Quiz nationally.

They support and coordinate fundraising for free legal advice agencies in London and the South East. Anyone interested in taking part in Legal Walks and a range of other fundraising events in London and the South East should get in touch with the team at the London Legal Support Trust.

Why is this important?

Two thirds of the UK population do not know how to get legal advice, alongside the increasing cost of living, access to justice is now more than ever a lifeline for individuals in crisis. With 14 million people living in poverty in the UK, it is important that free legal advice is widely available, and not merely a luxury to be afforded to those in certain areas.

We increase available resources for the provision of free legal advice across the UK through our grant making programmes. We utilise our values to develop and implement programmes to improve reach and maximise impact in areas that need it most. Without access to legal advice, many individuals may not understand how to navigate the legal system, putting them at a disadvantage when fighting for their rights.

Who will benefit from the funds raised?

We make grants to organisations spanning across the UK, and who specialise in a wide array of social welfare law. The organisations we support work tirelessly to help the most vulnerable in society, including:
